What Next?
Her research led her to conclude that there is one main factor that is depriving the world of $28 trillion dollars in economy. There is one main factor that excludes 90% of this amount to be reinvested in health, nutrition, and education for families. This factor is economic empowerment for women. According to the McKinsey Global Institute,if women had the opportunity to participate in the economy equally to men, this could happen in just 7 years. As Kofi Annan, a Nobel Peace Prize Winner and native Ghanaian notably stated, “there is no tool for development more effective than the empowerment of women.”
How Can Young Women Envision A Better Future?
We will serve as a talent accelerator to harness economic opportunities for women. The Yaa W. program provides comprehensive certification courses, extensive online training software, and experience with hands-on social impact projects, constructed to ensure every participant masters the fundamental skills requisite for employment at top financial and technology corporations. A speaker series consisting of internationally recognized female executives and entrepreneurs will spur hope and provide examples of success. Additionally, our mentorship program provides professional socialization and personal support.
To distill this large societal issue into a feasible solution she created Yielding Accomplished African Women (Yaa W.) in the honor of Yaa Asantewaa, a Ghanaian feminist heroine, chief warrior, and Queen mother.
